The Wonderous fi-4750C scanner from Fujitsu
October 15th, 2007OK, first ever blog, so be gentle with your comments.
The fi-4750C scanner and I go way back. We had a job to do back in 1998 that was duplex color, and there weren’t any (reasonably priced) scanners around to do it. We were working with a slow, simplex scanner, and manually flipping each page. Not cool.
Then FCPA released the fi-4750C scanner. Duplex Color Scanning for under $10,000. I was already familiar with the M4097D, with which the 4750 shared mechanics and body parts. We bought four of them on the spot. They did everything we needed them to, and more.
To this day, solution providers like Kofax site the 4750 as a certified match for their 650i interface cards, and they continue to do a great job, despite the increasing difficulty in finding parts for them. The fi-4750C was the right scanner at the right time.
